I could write a novel about our couple’s photo session with Amanda and Michael of Dream Bella Photography! What a great experience.
Quick backstory: the amazing Sara Tamargo Makeup Team did our girls’ hair and makeup at our November 6th 2021 Cancun wedding. A few days later on our honeymoon I messaged them to make sure their team was recognized for truly making our wedding day. Then, after finding out that our very busy wedding photo/video team cut our couple’s photo session from our contract (and that I didn’t get any Bridal portraits) the Sara Tamargo team quickly and graciously brought us together with Amanda and Michael at Dream Bella Photography for a November 9th couple’s photo session! They also offered makeup and hair with Monica and Esther, my hair/makeup angels on the wedding day. We honestly didn’t ask for or expect any of this. They put this together for us in 1 day – incredible.
While Ben and I were honestly ready to move on from the wedding craziness and enjoy the honeymoon, thankfully we decided to do it. What we ended up getting with Amanda and Michael was way more than we could have hoped for. (Their price alone is fantastic and fair – but for what you get, it’s really an outstandingly good price). The photos we received took away all our worries/anticipation about how our not-so-smooth wedding day photos might turn out. The experience and the photos embodied the joy of our marriage and love for each other perfectly. These were the photos that people want when they want to remember the happiest time of their life, when they want to remember joy and excitement of getting married. We are just overjoyed and feel so lucky for Amanda to have done this for us.
Just a quick note on clothing! I wanted Amanda’s opinion on what to wear, so I put about 8 dresses (wedding dress was already packed and on a plane with my mom) and 2 of Ben’s outfits in a suitcase. While Monica and Esther did my “beachy glam” makeup and hair, I got to hear Amanda’s elation over the variety of clothing to choose from haha. Amanda said that variety is great, and it makes so much sense when seeing the photos. Most photoshoots in my experience are restricted to 2 changes, so I felt really lucky to be able to do 4. Don’t be afraid to bring multiple outfit options to a session with Amanda! The beach was walking distance from the getting ready location. Michael kindly carried all outfit changes. There are plenty of options to change your outfits. By the 2nd outfit change, if you’re like me, you’ll be having so much fun, you’ll not worry who sees you in your bra and panties! Bra/panties/bikini – honestly who can tell the difference?
Just a bit about working with Amanda and Michael: First and foremost, their photos speak for themselves. But as people, they are talented and professional without the ego (what a lovely thing). The session did not feel overwhelming, as Amanda (sweetest person ever) takes over most of the interaction with you, and Michael provides support from more of a distance. Aanda had a plan for each time the elements were changing and she gave clear directions to capture these different lighting situations even it is was telling you to get a move on – but it was all light-hearted, funny, helpful and fun the whole time.
